Marvin C. Steadman, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 8, 2018, surrounded by his family.
Marv was a man of many talents and strengths, we were extremely proud to be his family. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served many callings during his life. He loved his country and served proudly for 12 years in the Utah National Guard.
He was a devoted, loving, family man and successful businessman. He also loved to laugh and tell jokes. He had such a fun personality that everyone was instantly drawn to him, he made everyone feel special. His love of the outdoors led to many family adventures at Lake Powell, Uintah Mountains, Beaches of California and the Oregon Coast. He loved boating, water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, mountain biking before it was cool and three-wheeling before it became four-wheeling.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jill Steadman; his two sons, Marvin O. Steadman (Angie) and Michael D. Steadman (Lori); and his five daughters: Julie Wright (Greg), Susie Fregoso (Tom), Stephanie Valentine (Todd), Michele Archer (Dave) and Stacy LeCates; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Alan and Carol Johnston.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Gwen Sanders Steadman; parents, Clinton and Mary Steadman; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Alex Peed; grandson, Josh Steadman; and granddaughter, Jane Archer.
Family and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah. Visitation from 9:30 to 10:30, service at 11 a.m.
The family would like to express gratitude for the amazing care Marv received at Orchard Cove Rehabilitation Center and for the compassion and guidance of Rocky Mountain Hospice.
